This week, I finally got my teeth into a little piece of Unreal scripting. I (the class) was supplied with a mod and I had to edit that mod to fit in with the map I have produced for my game. The mod had a structured menu system and was edited to get rid of Unreal’s FPS mechanics and have a third-person adventure game instead, with a new model (supplied to us).
I am currently still editing the menu to get it to the perfection I want, so I won’t show you that for now. However, I will show you some screenshots of the game within the lighthouse. I could’ve lightened up the place a bit more, but it gives it an old eery feel to the level; plus I don’t want to give to much away as of yet.
Third-Person View: The SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE your booty HUD shown in the bottom-right hand corner will not be shown in the game obviously. This was supplied with the mod given to us and had a small mini-game in which you press a key to make the player dance, and the score would accumulate if the player danced. This was just a basic mod, to get us used to the large world of Unreal scripting.
The player can put the game into 1st person view by just pressing a key. The game will soon be implemented with an Xbox 360 controller.
In addition to this, I edited my rather small PERT schedule and have enlarged it by at least 5 times its original size.
As you can see this is a small snippet of the PERT schedule. The icons on the left representing the progress on each part. This gets updated each time a change is made to the game.
See you next time.
